Kardzhali Dam is the second largest wall, and in terms of construction, shape and design it is unique for the entire Balkan Peninsula, and the curious thing about it is that it is one of the few in the world towering over the city itself.
Kardzhali Dam - Kardzhali Dam is a large dam in the Eastern Rhodopes, about 3 km from Kardzhali. Accumulates the waters of the Arda River. It was built in the period 1957-1963 and provides good conditions for fishing. It is mainly used for electricity generation. The height of the dam wall is 103.50 m, and the flooded area - 16.4 sq. Km.
