Ecomuseum with an aquarium - Ruse

The Ecomuseum presents the diversity of animal species and protected areas along the Danube, as well as the coexistence of man with nature.

The museum is located on four floors, where you can see a rich collection of fossils, as well as dioramas representing different animal species in a real environment. Here is the largest freshwater aquarium in Bulgaria with fish from the Danube and the rivers flowing into it. Special attention in the exhibition is paid to prehistoric animals. A life-size model of a hairy mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) is presented. Also on display is the world's only fully preserved part of another species of mammoth - the lower jaw of Mammuthus rumanus.
