Kunt Kapa Fortress Gate Ruse

Kunt Kapa Fortress Gate Ruse - Kunt Kapa Fortress Gate is one of the five gates of the fortress in the city of Ruse until the 19th century. According to the clauses of the Berlin Peace Treaty of 1878, all fortresses in the Principality of Bulgaria were destroyed. Only this gate and its iron-clad door are preserved from the Ruschushka fortress. It is believed that the doors of the Bulgarian medieval gates looked like this.

"Kyuntu Kapa" literally means "Pipe Door". A pipeline passed by the fortress gate - "kunt", which was once part of the water supply system of the city.
