The Vratsata pass is a paradise for climbers and tourists. The sheer cliffs of Vratsa are the highest on the Balkan Peninsula - over 400 meters. Even the very sight of them is breathtaking. The pass is located exactly 2 km from the central square of Vratsa. It is easily accessible both on foot and by car. An asphalt road leads through the pass, leading to the Ledenika cave, the Parshevitsa ski slope and the beautiful Balkan village of Zgorigrad.
The area is one of the favorite places for walks of Vratsa and guests of the city. There is a water lake nearby and a restaurant overlooking the cliffs. Republican alpiniads are held annually on Vratsa. Several times Vratsa has hosted international competitions. There are about 70 alpine routes of all difficulty categories on the rocks. The rock massif offers climbers a huge variety of rock shapes - large overhangs and ceilings, vertical smooth slabs, cracks and chimneys with different widths, edges and internal angles.
