Regional Historical Museum Silistra - It is located on an area of 400 sq.m. in a building, a cultural monument, from the beginning of the XX century and stores over 20,000 monuments from prehistory to the XVIII century. In the representative exposition are exhibited monuments from the prehistoric, ancient and medieval eras. Among them there are unique exhibits, such as a treasure of copper axes and carpenters from the 5th millennium BC. AD, a treasure of bronze sickles and axes from the 2nd millennium BC. Hr. Roman stone sundial with the image of Orpheus, the largest ever discovered in the Bulgarian lands; Thracian helmet, Roman parade helmet, Roman funeral helmet-mask with depicted griffins; a treasury with tombstones of precious metals from the Roman and medieval eras, gold ornaments and swords with precious stones from the burial of a prominent Roman magistrate from the end of the III century, the most representative of the former Roman provinces chariot. In the central hall are exhibited a statue of a Roman type "pudicitia", made in Dorostorum, Roman imperial statues, a gold ring of one of the first Christians from the end of the III century, collections of gold jewelry from the III-IV and XIII-XIV centuries, inscriptions and a column of Khan Omurtag, seals of Bulgarian and Byzantine rulers and high aristocrats, a gilded belt of an aristocrat from the 14th century, the gold ornaments of the princesses (despot and despina) of Druster from the 14th century, coin collections and treasures from the 4th century. Hr. to the 15th century AD, one of the largest collections of medieval crosses from the 10th to the 13th century, etc. Particularly attractive are the models of a representative Roman chariot from the 3rd century and the model of the Medieval Drustur, occupying the central foyers of the first and second floor.
Not far from the museum is the Roman tomb with frescoes - a top achievement of ancient art in the Bulgarian lands from the middle of the fourth century.
