The Regional Historical Museum - Vratsa is one of the most authoritative cultural and scientific institutions in Northwestern Bulgaria, in whose funds and halls are stored over 120,000 movable cultural values from all historical epochs. The structure of RIM-Vratsa includes: central building, lapidarium, ethnographic-Renaissance complex "St. Sofroniy Vrachanski ”, ethnographic-revival complex“ Nikola Voyvodov ”, medieval residential and defensive towers -“ Kurtpashov Tower ”and“ Meshchiite Tower ”.
In the exhibition halls visitors can get acquainted with world-class artifacts such as: the unique clay altar with antlers and early Neolithic burials "in situ" from the village of Ohoden, the earliest proto-writing in the world, the Thracian treasure (165 silver and silver gilded vessels). ) from Rogozen, the golden Thracian treasure from the Mogila mound, etc.
The museum is one of the 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria.
