Ogosta Dam - Ogosta Dam is a dam in Northwestern Bulgaria, the fourth largest artificial reservoir in the country. It collects the waters of the Ogosta, Barzia and Zlatitsa rivers, and is located 600 meters southwest of the outskirts of Montana, 60 meters above the city level. The catchment area is 948 km2 and the dam itself covers an area of ​​23.6 km2. The average annual water mass is 384 million m3 and the total volume is 506 million m3.
The construction of the dam lasted 20 years and was completed in 1986. Under its waters remain two villages, whose inhabitants were displaced in Montana and Berkovitsa.
 
In 1999 the reservoir was designated for commercial fishing. The variety of fish in it is great: carp, caracuda, redfin, bream, perch, perch, barbel.
